At Kaizen QB Academy, our mission is to develop quarterbacks who are built to stand out — not through hype, but through disciplined, repeatable work.
Our approach is grounded in mechanics, data, and purposeful reps, with an emphasis on efficiency, consistency, and long-term development. We focus on building elite throwing mechanics, a competitive edge, and a mindset centered on continuous improvement.
Everything we do is designed to prepare quarterbacks to perform when it matters most — under pressure, in real competition, and over time.

We take a martial-arts-based approach to quarterback development: precision, repetition, and discipline — the Kaizen way.
Alfred Benson leads the “how” — building elite mechanics first (base, sequencing, torque, rotational power, and efficiency) through in-depth biomechanical feedback, SpinLab data, and strength training rooted in his 20+ years as a professional athlete strength coach and former kickboxer.
Coach Danny Jones leads the “why” — developing high football IQ, advanced decision-making, film study, and situational awareness.
Mechanics come first, then we layer movement and game-like decision-making. SpinLab data validates every step so we don’t guess — we measure and improve. The goal remains simple: build quarterbacks with a black-belt mindset and elite on-field execution.

Kaizen QB Academy was founded by Alfred Benson in 2017 with a clear vision: develop complete quarterbacks through disciplined, data-driven training and a martial-arts mindset of continuous improvement (Kaizen).
Alfred has been fortunate to work with many of the top quarterbacks in the country. He spent two years learning directly from one of the premier QB developers in the nation over the last 25 years. As a former professional kickboxer, Alfred has been deeply focused on mechanics his entire life. He specializes in creating rotational power and efficiency, with a main focus on developing elite throwers through in-depth biomechanical feedback and strength training — helping each athlete become their best version.
With over 20 years of professional athlete strength training and more than a decade of biomechanical study, Alfred is in charge of the “how” — the mechanics, power, and physical execution. His passion for quarterback development deepened while navigating the college recruiting process with his son, a former D1 scholarship quarterback. Those experiences taught him invaluable lessons, and he is committed to making the journey smoother and more successful for the next generation of quarterbacks.
Coach Danny Jones complements this expertise as Director of QB IQ & Recruiting, leading the “why” — football intelligence, decision-making, and the mental side of the game.
As the academy expands across Idaho and Southern California, the entire staff operates within one unified system — consistent standards, language, and expectations at every location.
Meet Coach Danny Jones — Director of QB IQ & Recruiting
Coach Danny Jones brings elite championship experience and a deep football intellect to Kaizen QB Academy in Idaho. A lifelong student of the game, he leads QB IQ development, film study, advanced decision-making, and recruiting support for all Kaizen athletes.
A product of Amador Valley High School (class of 2004), Coach Jones played quarterback at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (2004–2007), where he was a four-year starter and helped win the 2007 Division III National Championship. He immediately entered coaching as a Graduate Assistant (2008–2010) and then Quarterbacks Coach (2010–2012) under legendary head coach Lance Leipold.
In 2015 he returned home to lead the Amador Valley Dons as head coach. Over eleven seasons he transformed the program into a Northern California powerhouse — delivering the school’s first section title, the 2024 NorCal Championship, and a run to the California State Championship game. He has developed more than 25 Division I prospects and over 50 college players.
Now based in the Star, Idaho area, Coach Danny brings that same championship culture and recruiting expertise directly to Kaizen athletes in the Treasure Valley and beyond.
Off the field, Coach Jones and his wife Lanni are raising four young children — Briggins (6), Beckham (4), Kylan (2), and Livie (4 months).
